Kingdoms and Castles poster

Kingdoms and Castles is a city-building simulation about nurturing a settlement from a tiny hamlet into a sprawling city crowned by an imposing castle. Set in a living, dangerous world, your kingdom must weather threats that range from viking raiders carrying off your villagers to a dragon torching your granary, and its ultimate fate rests entirely on your skill as a city and castle planner.

On the design side, you lay out your town strategically to boost your peasants' happiness and draw new residents, taxing them just enough to fund your defences. Keeping people fed through winter, healing plagues, building churches to stave off despair and taverns to lift spirits, and even hosting festivals at a town square all factor into a thriving population, while wood cutters, stone quarries and efficient farming supply the resources you need to grow. Fortification is equally vital, as vikings seek to kidnap peasants, plunder resources and burn your town down. The castle system lets you construct fortifications from individual blocks placed anywhere, with towers and walls forming dynamically based on how you stack and arrange them. This indie strategy simulation rewards careful planning on PC.
