About Kenshi

Kenshi is a free-roaming, squad-based RPG that puts open-ended sandbox play ahead of any linear story. There is no fixed path to follow; instead you decide who to be, whether a trader, a thief, a rebel, a warlord, an adventurer, a farmer, a slave, or simply food for the cannibals. That freedom sits at the heart of the experience, shaping a harsh desert world where survival is never guaranteed.

Progress comes through research and construction. You research new equipment and craft fresh gear, then purchase and upgrade your own buildings, using them as fortified havens when things go bad or as the foundation for a business. Throughout, you can aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth needed just to stay alive in an unforgiving environment.

Your squad grows and endures alongside you. You train your men from puny victims into master warriors, and when battles turn against you, you carry wounded companions to safety in the hope of getting everyone home alive. Blending RPG, simulation, strategy, action, and indie elements, Kenshi gives PC players a demanding, deeply open sandbox where every story is one you write yourself.
