KARMA: The Dark World is a first-person cinematic psychological thriller set in a dystopian 1984 East Germany, where the omnipresent Leviathan Corporation rules with an iron fist. In this alternate timeline, the corporation controls citizens through mass surveillance, rigid social class rules, mind-altering drugs, and the promise that the gates to Utopia will open to those who serve. Things, however, are not quite what they seem.
You play as Daniel McGovern, a Roam Agent for Leviathan's Thought Bureau who uses advanced technology to dive into the minds of the accused. The work involves investigating crime scenes, interviewing suspects, and reporting your findings back to Leviathan. Brain diving takes you into the twisted environments of suspects' memories and the horrors lurking in the corners of their minds, testing your sanity as the boundaries between reality and the surreal blur, leaving you unsure whether you can trust what you see.
At its heart lies a cinematic interactive story exploring themes of family, love, loss, and control, where a simple investigation opens into a world of espionage and betrayal riddled with dark secrets. Combining adventure, indie, and RPG elements, KARMA: The Dark World offers PC players an unsettling narrative-driven descent.
