About Ironcast

Ironcast poster

Ironcast is a turn-based strategy RPG set in an alternate 1880s Victorian England, drawing inspiration from science fiction writers like H.G. Wells and Jules Verne. In this steampunk-tinged history, refined men and women in top hats and bonnets pilot enormous walking war machines called Ironcasts. You take control of one of these seven-meter-tall vehicles and stand against an invading force of enemy Ironcast bent on threatening the British Empire.

Combat revolves around generating resource nodes that power your machine's weapons and systems. The core tension lies in spending those nodes wisely, choosing whether to press an aggressive assault to cripple your opponent or to shore up defenses when a barrage of incoming fire looks imminent. This push-and-pull gives each battle a puzzle-like rhythm on top of its tactical stakes.

The indie design layers in roguelite structure, where death is permanent but rewards persist from one session to the next, encouraging repeated runs against the invaders. You loot new technology from fallen enemies, upgrade abilities, and customize your Ironcast with over 50 unlockable weapons and defensive systems for near-limitless combinations. Rendered in a hand-painted art style, it offers PC strategy fans a distinctive alternate-history campaign.
