About Inscryption

Inscryption poster

Inscryption is a card-based adventure from the creator of Pony Island and The Hex, and it wears its indie ambitions openly as a self-destructing love letter to video games. The description promises a mind-melting experience, and the design lives up to it by blending three distinct ingredients: deckbuilding roguelike runs, escape-room style puzzles, and unsettling psychological horror. The result is an inky, blood-laced concoction where the cards themselves hide darker secrets than they first appear.

Much of the strategy centers on assembling a deck of woodland creature cards, which you gather through methods as unnerving as draft, surgery, and self-mutilation. Progress means peering behind the walls of Leshy's cabin and unlocking the secrets waiting there. Along the way the game pulls you into an odyssey that grows increasingly strange and deeply disturbing.

For PC players who enjoy strategy games that refuse to sit still, Inscryption stands apart by folding puzzle solving and horror atmosphere into its card battles. Rather than a straightforward deckbuilder, it treats the format as a stage for surprises, keeping you guessing about what the cabin, the cards, and the story are really hiding.
