About Imagine Earth

Imagine Earth poster

Imagine Earth is a real-time planet simulation and build-up strategy game in which you take on the role of a space colony manager tasked with exploring and populating distant worlds. Your job is to raise thriving, profitable colonies on a global scale, then trade resources and goods out into space as your settlements grow.

The central tension of the game is the clash between profit and preservation. As you expand, exhaust emissions and ground pollution steadily affect the global climate, and rising temperatures can melt polar caps until rising seas wipe out your colonies. Managing that balance means building power plants, farms, and factories to satisfy your cities' appetite for resources, digging for ideon crystals, pacifying riots, and researching new technologies, all while keeping the ecosystem healthy enough to sustain your people.

The world pushes back in plenty of ways. You'll contend with asteroid strikes, twisters, wildfires, volcanoes, and rising sea levels, while also fending off space raiders and alien investors and choosing whether to coexist and trade with natives, merchants, and hostile colonies. Its capitalist space-age premise imagines a 2048 in which huge corporations have carved up Earth and drained its resources, until the discovery of ideon crystals opens the way to the stars. As an indie strategy simulation on PC, it turns planetary growth into a careful ecological juggling act.
