About Hollow Knight

Hollow Knight is a classically styled 2D action-adventure set across a vast, interconnected world. Beneath the fading town of Dirtmouth lies an ancient, ruined kingdom, and many are drawn below the surface in search of riches, glory, or answers to old secrets. You brave twisting caverns, ancient cities, and deadly wastes, battling tainted creatures, befriending bizarre bugs, and unraveling long-buried mysteries at the kingdom's heart.

The game has expanded considerably through free content over time. Godmaster lets you take your place amongst the Gods with new characters, a fresh quest, and new boss fights; Lifeblood upgrades the kingdom with a new boss and refinements across the whole game; The Grimm Troupe adds a major quest, new bosses, charms, enemies, and friends; and Hidden Dreams introduces mighty new foes, upgrades, and music.

At its foundation is classic side-scrolling action with modern trimmings and tightly tuned 2D controls that let you dodge, dash, and slash through even the deadliest adversaries. The world of Hallownest is expansive and open, so you forge your own path, choosing which routes to take and which enemies to face, and you evolve by gaining powerful new skills. Rooted in indie platformer traditions, this PC title rewards exploration and mastery in equal measure.
