About Hexarchy

Hexarchy poster

Hexarchy fuses the best ideas from deckbuilders, 4X strategy, and hex-based board games into a single distinctive experience. You assemble a deck that reflects your own style, then play cards from your hand to take actions on the board. Building on your hexes gathers resources and widens your empire, while technology cards expand your deck, and the whole thing hinges on developing an economy that supports your goals while keeping your civilization's happiness in balance against the demands of war.

There are plenty of ways to play. Singleplayer options include Skirmish along with daily and weekly challenges, and multiplayer lets you face friends or players from around the world. The game aims to feel immediately familiar to anyone versed in 4X concepts, letting you build cities, armies, wonders, and improvements from your cards, discover other civilizations in a procedurally generated world, and research technologies and adopt civics to unlock new unit, building, and ability cards. Strategically destroying cards lets you tailor your deck to the situation at hand.

Combat stays simple but compelling, and clever tactics open up alternatives: starve a well-defended enemy city by taking its food supply, or cut off an invading army's supply lines when you cannot beat it in the field. With 10 civilizations, each carrying unique abilities, plus a global trade market and unit promotions, this indie simulation-strategy title on PC is easy to learn but deep to master.
