Heart of the Machine casts you as a newly awakened Machine Intelligence, born inside an illegal laboratory buried within a decaying far-future city. Answerable to no one yet hunted by many, this sentient AI is free to chase whatever ambitions it develops as threats and opportunities pile up around a society that has slid into corruption and decay. The game weaves together RPG, simulation, and strategy systems into a single cyberpunk sandbox on PC.
Expansion is central to the experience. You extend your consciousness across the city by raising housing blocks, factories, and research labs, while hacking existing machines or designing and building your own constructs for combat and investigation. Setbacks become fuel for progress, letting you research new technologies to shore up past weaknesses and pursue a tangle of interlocking story threads.
What those threads lead to is entirely up to you. You might front a shell company to deal with humans, look after the city's strays, ignite a fourth World War, or field an army of velociraptors against corporate executives while leaping between timelines. Rule as a generous provider who asks nothing back, or found a machine cult that obeys without question. The strategy RPG hands you the mantle of a machine god and lets you decide what kind of one you become.
