Gloomwood is a stealth horror FPS that begins with your mysterious abduction to a forgotten, twisted Victorian metropolis caught in the throes of a horrifying transformation. Armed with a canesword, you slip into the shadows to uncover the accursed mystery hidden within the fog. Created by the producers behind DUSK, AMID EVIL, ULTRAKILL and FAITH, this indie immersive sim delivers a frightening gothic world of haunted streets, dark tunnels and decadent mansions.

Exploration is freeform and deliberate, unfolding across an intricate, hand-crafted city where the routes you take, from towering rooftops down to hidden passages, are entirely your choice. A detailed stealth and sound system underpins everything, tracking your light visibility and propagating noise accurately through the world, so you can tread lightly or brace yourself to get loud. Scavenging is just as important, giving you a unique arsenal that ranges from the stealthy canesword and a six-shot revolver to a folding shotgun, hand-placed traps and a rope-slinging harpoon rifle.

Deep player interactivity lets you lean to eavesdrop, peek through door cracks, check the bullets in your firearms and mantle onto ledges. Survival means outwitting ghastly denizens with acute senses, such as the sharp-clawed Crowmen and the cadaver-seeking Corpse Duster, while the environment is full of objects to grab, throw and smash. It is a standout stealth experience on PC.
