Gears Tactics reimagines the acclaimed franchise as a fast-paced, turn-based strategy game, set twelve years before the events of the first Gears of War. Cities across the planet Sera are beginning to fall to the monstrous Locust Horde rising from beneath the surface, and with the government in disarray, a small band of survivors becomes humanity's last hope. You take the role of Gabe Diaz, recruiting, developing and commanding squads on a desperate mission to hunt down Ukkon, the merciless mastermind who breeds the Locust army's most terrifying monsters.

The experience is driven by an immersive, character-focused story of leadership, survival and sacrifice, following Gabe as he rescues stragglers and builds his troops. You customize your squad and their equipment, upgrading skills and outfitting soldiers with loot gathered from challenging missions. Combat rewards aggression, pushing you to advance and survive through intense, visceral encounters against a swarming, relentless enemy.

Towering boss battles punctuate the campaign, pitting your squad against deadly foes that dwarf ordinary enemies. Completing the tutorial even unlocks the Armored Gabe character skin for use in Gears 5.
