Gamedec is a single-player, non-combat cyberpunk isometric RPG in which you play a game detective solving crimes inside virtual worlds. Using your wits, you gather information from witnesses and suspects, unravel deceptive schemes, save lives, and investigate the extraordinary relationships between virtual worlds and their inhabitants. The game continually adapts to your choices and never judges, embracing the idea that you are the sum of your decisions.
The setting is Warsaw in the 22nd century, where technology has advanced so far that the term real has become relative and both life and death carry many meanings. Virtual game-worlds give rise to very human problems such as lust, sloth, envy and pride, and their residents need specialists, the Gamedecs, private investigators experienced in those realities who uncover secrets and hidden mechanics on behalf of clients. You are one of them, shaping your character as you take on each case.
At its core, Gamedec emulates the nature of tabletop RPGs by focusing on character development through decision-making. You gather aspects and craft a unique set of professions that let you lead investigations in a way that fits your style, while a codex records the relationships you uncover between virtual worlds and their inhabitants. As an indie adventure RPG on PC, it rewards thoughtful players who prefer deduction and dialogue over combat.
