About Foundation

Foundation poster

Foundation is a gridless medieval city builder that lets you shape organic, sprawling towns rather than snapping structures to a rigid grid. You create modular buildings, guide the natural growth of your settlement, and manage the villagers who bring it to life, blending free-building tools with procedural generation to produce a truly organic city-building experience on PC.

Management runs deep beneath the creative freedom. You assign jobs, establish production chains and set up trade, watching your creations spring to life as the economy develops. A unique Painting tool lets you guide villagers by defining areas for homes, deciding where to pave roads, setting patrol routes, and designating forest extraction zones, giving you organic control over how the town spreads. Progress unfolds through the three Estates of the Realm, each offering a distinct path to advance your community.

The game is built to be played at your own pace. Multiple difficulty levels and optional Aspirations let you chase new challenges and playstyles, while a Creative mode invites you to simply relax, build and enjoy the view. With unlimited generated maps, almost no construction constraints and modular buildings you can transform into majestic monuments, this indie strategy and simulation title rewards both ambitious planners and laid-back architects alike.
