About FINAL FANTASY™ XVI

FINAL FANTASY XVI is the first fully fledged Action RPG in the mainline Final Fantasy series, set in an epic dark fantasy world where the fate of the land rests with the mighty Eikons and the Dominants who wield them. It tells the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior named First Shield of Rosaria and sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix. Before long, Clive is swept into a great tragedy and swears revenge on the Dark Eikon Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity in its wake.

Combat is built around Clive's mastery of multiple Eikons, letting him unleash their powers in breakneck battle, while titanic clashes erupt whenever rival Dominants bring their Eikons head to head. A wealth of swordplay techniques and Eikonic abilities lies within your reach, and you decide which to learn or upgrade.

Two modes tailor the experience to your comfort. Story-focused mode suits players less at ease with action games, having Clive automatically evade some attacks and trigger epic Eikonic combos with simple presses, while Action-focused mode hands full control to those confident in their skill.
