About Factorio

Factorio is a game about building and maintaining factories, tasking you with mining resources, researching technologies, constructing infrastructure, automating production, and fending off enemies. You start humbly, chopping trees, mining ores, and crafting mechanical arms and transport belts by hand, but before long you can grow into an industrial powerhouse complete with sprawling solar fields, oil refining and cracking, and fleets of construction and logistic robots serving your ever-expanding resource needs.

That relentless exploitation of the planet doesn't sit well with the locals, so you'll need to be ready to defend yourself and your machine empire as it grows. This tension between endless automation and the threat of retaliation gives the action a steady undercurrent of pressure, ensuring your factories are always as much about survival as efficiency.

The game extends well beyond its core freeplay scenario. Cooperative multiplayer lets you join forces with friends to create enormous factories, collaborating and delegating tasks between you, while ground-up modding support ranges from small tweaks and helper mods to complete overhauls crafted by creators around the world. A variety of scenarios offer additional challenges, and an in-game Map Editor lets you place entities, enemies, and terrain however you like, even adding custom scripts.
