About Elite Dangerous

Elite Dangerous poster

Elite Dangerous is a massively multiplayer space epic that brings the genre's original open-world adventure into a modern, connected galaxy, recreating the entire Milky Way at its true galactic scale. Blending action, adventure, RPG progression, simulation and strategy, it begins with little more than a small starship and a handful of credits and asks you to earn the skill, wealth and power needed to survive a cutthroat future and eventually stand among the ranks of the legendary Elite.

What makes the setting distinct is how much player action shapes it. In an age of galactic superpowers and interstellar war, every pilot's choices feed a shared, evolving narrative where governments fall, battles are won and lost, and humanity's frontier is continually reshaped. The Horizons season, now included, extends that experience to planetary surfaces, letting you drive the Scarab Surface Recon Vehicle, craft weapons, deploy ship-launched fighters and enjoy multicrew co-op.

The galaxy itself is the real star, with 400 billion star systems forming the stage for open-ended play. Real stars, planets, moons, asteroid fields and black holes are rendered at genuine epic proportions in what is billed as the largest designed playspace in videogame history, giving PC players an almost limitless frontier to make their own.
