Easy Red 2 is a World War 2 shooter built for players who want simulation-minded weapons and mechanics, historical accuracy in its battles, and expansive maps with room for large-scale infantry and vehicle combat alike. This indie action title was rewritten from scratch to reach a higher standard of mechanics and optimization, aiming for a design that looks appealing while still running well on lower-end machines.
The base game carries you across the European, African and Pacific fronts. In Europe you land on the shores of Anzio, Italy, and push toward the bombed peaks of Monte Cassino before heading to the Greek island of Kos, invaded by the Germans in 1943. The Pacific takes you to Japanese-occupied Kwajalein, assaulted by the United States Marine Corps in 1944, while the Africa campaign has you fighting through the tropical biomes of Tunisia. Counting the base content and its very affordable expansion packs, the game contains over 100 missions.
Support has been a hallmark of the project. Across most of 2021, 2022 and 2023 Easy Red 2 received at least one update a week, often more, adding weapons, uniforms, vehicles, factions and game modes. That steady stream of new content is something the team intends to keep going, giving PC strategy and simulation fans plenty of reason to return.
