Door Kickers 2: Task Force North is the sequel to the hit tactics game Door Kickers, delivering one of the most convincing portrayals of modern close quarters combat in a video game. You command Special Operation Units on daring raids in the fictional Middle Eastern country of Nowheraki, rescuing hostages and neutralizing or capturing terrorists across non-linear missions.
Planning is freeform and top-down. The game runs in real time but lets you pause at will, so you can think, rethink, and still sweat the outcome as the action unfolds, all without turns, hexes, or action points to juggle. It models genuinely deadly threats like suicide bombers, IEDs, and rocket-propelled grenades, but hands you the tools to answer them: light machine guns for suppressive fire, night vision goggles, and breaching charges that punch new entry points through destructible walls. If something blocks your path, you can simply tear it down.
Customization runs deep. You choose which unit to deploy for each mission, from U.S. Army Rangers built on firepower and coordination, to the CIA's Special Activities Division with its covert operators, to the improvised grit of Nowheraki SWAT. These are not just reskins; each brings a distinct playstyle. Blending action, strategy, and simulation, this indie tactics game rewards careful thinking on PC.
