About DOOM: The Dark Ages

DOOM: The Dark Ages poster

DOOM: The Dark Ages serves as the prequel to DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal, telling a cinematic origin story worthy of the DOOM Slayer's legend. In this third chapter of the modern series, you step into the Slayer's blood-stained boots for a dark, sinister medieval war against Hell, a setting the franchise has never explored before. It is a single-player dark fantasy and sci-fi experience powered by the latest idTech engine.

The combat leans into the grounded, vicious style the original DOOM made famous. You shred enemies with returning favorites like the Super Shotgun while wielding brutal new tools, chief among them the versatile Shield Saw. The action expands beyond the battlefield, too: you can take flight atop a fierce Mecha Dragon, tower over foes inside a massive Atlan mech, and pulverize demons with an enhanced glory kill system built for this era.

The story frames the Slayer as the super weapon of gods and kings, bound to serve even as his own leader schemes to destroy him and rule through fear alone. Fending off demon hordes across infested medieval battlefields, this PC action shooter promises the searing pace and over-the-top spectacle the DOOM name is known for, wrapped in a grim new age.
