About Dicey Dungeons

Dicey Dungeons poster

Dicey Dungeons is a fast-paced deckbuilding roguelike that turns you into a giant walking die, battling toward the end of an ever-changing dungeon while trying to escape the cruel whims of Lady Luck. It comes from Terry Cavanagh, creator of Super Hexagon and VVVVVV, alongside Chipzel and Marlowe Dobbe, and it wears that pedigree in its snappy pace and playful sense of chance.

The loop is built on fighting monsters, finding better loot and leveling up your heroes as you push deeper. Your ultimate goal is to work together with those heroes to take down the Goddess of Fortune, Lady Luck herself, which frames each run as a scrappy uprising against the very forces of chance that keep tripping you up.

What gives the game its identity is the tension between preparation and randomness. You balance carefully planned strategies against the unpredictable outcome of a dice roll, so every turn asks you to weigh a solid plan against the numbers you actually get. As an indie strategy roguelike on PC, Dicey Dungeons keeps encounters quick and readable while still demanding smart decisions, making it easy to dive into another attempt at outsmarting Lady Luck one more time.
