About Death's Door

Death's Door poster

Death's Door casts you as a Crow tasked with the honest, if occasionally monotonous, work of reaping souls of the dead and punching a clock. Things liven up considerably when the soul you were assigned is stolen, sending you after a desperate thief into a realm untouched by death, a place where creatures have grown far past their natural expiry and brim with greed and power. It is an indie action-adventure with a wry, melancholy streak.

Combat is described as talon-sharp, drawing on melee weapons, arrows, and magic to overcome a fantastic array of beasts and demigods. Mistakes are punished and victory is rewarded, and you can gain an edge by customizing your character's stats and mastering the abilities and upgrades you collect along the way. That mix of precision and steady growth gives the fighting a satisfying rhythm.

The world itself is beautifully bleak, inviting you to venture beyond the Doors into a land of twisted inhabitants and countless secrets, bringing a little hope to the strange characters you meet. A dark mystery threads through it all as you track down and defeat colossal tyrants with motivations of their own, uncovering truths about the flow of souls, the role of the Crows, and the origin of the Doors. On PC it delivers a darkly comedic RPG-flavored adventure.
