About Death Howl

Death Howl poster

Death Howl leads you into myth-shrouded lands as Ro, a hunter who sets out on a harrowing journey to bring her son back from the dead. Overcome by grief after his death and guided by voices from another world, she crosses into the Spirit World, a place fractured into four realms and marked by thirteen distinct regions. Across a dark journey spanning more than 25 hours, you confront over thirty enemy types, face grim boss battles, and take on numerous absorbing side quests.

Combat unfolds on a grid, where every move counts. You face restless spirits such as Skulldogs, Crackle Bursts, and Woeful Seashrooms in tactical encounters that fold in environmental hazards and boons, testing your wits against unique foes, powerful bosses, and mini-bosses alike. Growing stronger, adapting your approach, and choosing which battles to fight are all part of surviving this dangerous world.

At its core lies deckbuilding. You craft more than 160 cards and assemble synergistic decks built around poison, strength, sacrifice, retaliation, backstabbing, blocking, movement, and more, forging unique archetypes and countless combinations. Shamanic totems with their own effects further enhance your deck, letting you tailor your tactical style before each deadly clash. As an indie adventure-strategy blend on PC, it fuses folklore with grid-based card tactics.
