About Darwin Project

Darwin Project unfolds in a bleak, post-apocalyptic stretch of the Northern Canadian Rockies. Bracing for an oncoming Ice Age, its organizers launch a project that is part scientific experiment, part live entertainment, dropping ten participants into a hostile arena where they must endure the cold and fight until only one remains. The result is an action-driven indie survival contest wrapped in the trappings of a televised spectacle.

That spectacle is baked into the design. Through the Spectator Experience, viewers directly shape each match: they vote to pick the target of a Power triggered by the Show Director, wager on which inmate or team will win, and bid for Director-level Powers to unleash in Private Matches. The Show Director acts as the bridge between players and audience, presiding over the arena with nuclear strikes, zone closures, gravity storms, and the sway of their own voice, playing host and tormentor in one.

Underneath the showmanship sits dynamic, tactical play rooted in survival mechanics. You gather resources, craft tools, and upgrade gear while tracking rivals across the arena, then commit to both melee and ranged fights with the goal of being the last inmate standing. On PC it blends competitive survival with an unusual, spectator-fueled twist.
