Curse of the Dead Gods lures players toward an accursed temple with promises of untold riches, eternal life, and divine power. What awaits instead is a seemingly endless labyrinth riddled with bottomless pits, deadly traps, and monsters, making every descent into this action-adventure roguelike a dangerous gamble across dark, cavernous passages.
Survival depends on making full use of weapons, the environment, and your own wits. Players collect mystical Relics and build up an arsenal in pursuit of becoming unstoppable, battling through hordes of enemies while contending with fire-spewing statues, explosives, hidden spikes, and other lurking hazards. A defining mechanic is Corruption, which builds with every step and grants powerful curses that each cut both ways, leaving it to the player to embrace or resist their influence.
Greed sits at the thematic heart of this indie title, presented as something that can both doom and save you. Your hunger for treasure will lead to death, yet death is not an escape, since you simply rise to fight again, delve deeper, and once more defy the malignant deities that haunt the temple. That loop of risk, reward, and defiance defines the relentless challenge of each attempt.
