About Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 opens on a haunting ritual: once a year the Paintress wakes and paints a number on her monolith, and everyone older than it turns to smoke. As that number falls, more people vanish, and when it reaches 33, a group sets out on a final mission to destroy her so she can never paint death again. You join Gustave, Maelle, and their fellow Expeditioners on that desperate quest, following the trail of earlier expeditions to learn their fate.

This RPG reworks turn-based combat with real-time mechanics that make battles feel more immersive and addictive. You can craft distinct builds for each Expeditioner through gear, stats, skills, and character synergies, then open an active dimension in the middle of a fight, dodging, parrying, and countering in real time, chaining combos by reading attack rhythms, and picking apart enemy weak points with free aim.

The world draws on the elegance of Belle Époque France, populated by surreal, devastating foes. On PC, this action RPG frames itself as an evolution of the JRPG, pairing an enchanting realm with combat that keeps you fully engaged as the Expedition fights against impossible odds.
