About City of Gangsters

City of Gangsters lets you build a criminal empire from absolutely nothing and grow it into a smooth-running money machine. Set in 1920 at the dawn of American Prohibition, it casts you as a fresh arrival in the city just as bars close, distilleries fall silent, and a huge slice of the economy goes illegal overnight, ushering in a golden age for smugglers, black markets, and organized crime. You work your way into that underground network, and if you play it right, the city becomes yours.

This simulation and strategy hybrid asks you to think several steps ahead. You'll get started peddling homemade hooch, then stand up your own stills, secure raw materials, and learn new techniques to produce pricier drinks or bring in smuggled imports. Building speakeasies and illegal distilleries, managing production chains and distribution, and bribing the police to look away all feed the operation.

Growth means cultivating a loyal crew, keeping rivals in check, and steadily eliminating the competition until you rule the city. On PC, the through line is always the same: whatever else happens, keep the money flowing and keep thinking bigger.
