Chornobyl Liquidators looks back to April 26, 1986, when the explosion of reactor number 4 at the Chernobyl plant released a massive amount of radioactive isotopes and sent squads of liquidators into an invisible, deadly fight. Many were ordinary people asked to do extraordinary things, and many paid with their health or their lives. This blend of action, adventure, indie, casual, RPG, and simulation puts you in their place as a nameless hero facing radiation head-on.
Your work takes many forms. You'll fight fires on the ruins of the reactor, move through abandoned Pripyat as a dosimetrist battling radioactive dust, descend into the tunnels beneath the reactor in a radiation suit, and clear graphite from a rooftop with a shovel. It's a grim, first-hand look at the disaster.
Choices carry weight here. Your decisions shape not only your own fate and that of your loved ones but the wider world, forcing you to weigh family against truth as you confront Soviet repression and the KGB. On PC, the game asks whether you have the courage to uncover what really happened during a catastrophe that changed history.
