Children of Morta puts a family, not a lone hero, at the heart of its action RPG. You take command of the Bergsons, an extraordinary clan defending their world against a spreading Corruption, and each member carries their own strengths and shortcomings into battle. With a rogue-lite twist on progression, you hack and slash through procedurally generated dungeons, caves, and lands whose layouts change every time you venture out.
What sets the game apart is how leveling works: gains carry beyond a single character to strengthen the whole family. There's no permadeath, and you can swap between relatives between runs, blending action-adventure RPG, rogue-lite, and hack-and-slash into one steady rhythm.
The story reaches for feelings anyone can recognize, love and hope, longing and uncertainty, loss, and the sacrifices we'll make for those we cherish. On PC, online co-op lets you fight the Corruption side by side with a distant friend across both Story and Family Trials modes, and local co-op is available too, so this indie adventure is best shared.
