Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a top-down adventure set inside a living coloring book, and its central hook is simple but endlessly charming: you can paint on nearly anything. When Chicory, the celebrated artist who wields the Brush, goes missing and all the color drains from the world, her biggest fan, you, picks up the Brush to carry on. It's a daunting responsibility, but this indie RPG makes filling in the blanks feel joyful.
Exploration and puzzle-solving are woven together through paint. You'll brush across the Picnic Province, reshape the environment, and unlock fresh abilities that open the way to places you couldn't reach before. Dozens of side quests round things out, including mail runs, art classes, and photo taking, alongside collectible clothes, plants, and furniture to make the world your own.
With more than a hundred animal characters to meet and over ten hours of play, there's plenty to discover, and local co-op lets a friend jump in to paint alongside you. On PC, the experience is elevated by audio design from Em Halberstadt and A Shell in the Pit, plus an original score by Celeste composer Lena Raine.
