About Chained Echoes

Chained Echoes poster

Chained Echoes is a story-driven JRPG that follows a band of heroes across the vast continent of Valandis as they try to end a grinding war between its three kingdoms. Their quest carries them through wildly varied landscapes, from wind-tanned plateaus and exotic archipelagos to sunken cities and long-forgotten dungeons, always with the question hanging over them of whether peace is even possible in a land where betrayal waits around every corner.

Combat leans into classic 16-bit SNES-style RPG design while keeping things brisk. Battles are fast-paced and turn-based, with no random encounters since enemies roam visibly and can be seen running around the field. You take up your sword, channel your magic, or climb aboard your Mech to face countless unique foes in a fantasy world where dragons are as commonplace as piloted mechanical suits.

There is real depth beneath the retro presentation, with a complex skill and equipment system, heaps of items to loot, steal, or craft, and even a customisable airship to call your own, all set to a soundtrack inspired by the PSX-era RPGs. Offering roughly 30 to 40 hours of play, this indie RPG gives PC fans a captivating adventure that wears its classic influences with pride.
