Cataclismo casts you as the defender of humanity's last bastion in a ruined world, tasking you with raising fortresses brick by brick to hold back relentless waves of Horrors. It frames its siege warfare within a story of hope, resilience, and community, challenging you to withstand the onslaught and rise above the haze.
The rhythm splits between day and night. By day you play architect, gathering resources and using LEGO-inspired mechanics to construct your stronghold with an eye on tactical layouts, weather, traps, and troop placement. By night the hordes arrive to tear it all down, and a realistic physics system means falling bricks crush enemies and allies without discrimination. Between assaults you optimise your citadel, erecting key buildings and climbing prosperity levels that unlock new constructions, stronger soldiers, and destructive siege equipment, right up to fire arrows that reduce Horrors to ash.
Surviving the night comes down to skilful command. You maneuver a varied roster of soldiers into precise tactical positions where even their height matters, deploying bowmen, explosive cannoneers, and bulky lobbers whose unique abilities trigger automatically during a siege, and laying traps to foil the enemy. On PC, this strategy game blends inventive construction, physics-driven defence, and a heartfelt tale of holding on.
