Brotato is a frantic action roguelite that opens with a spaceship from Potato World crash-landing on a hostile alien planet. The lone survivor is Brotato, a spud with the singular talent of handling six weapons at once, and while he waits for rescue he has to fend off waves of aliens. As an indie action-RPG for PC, it's built around quick, replayable runs and endless build experimentation.
The combat is designed for speed and flexibility. Weapons auto-fire by default, with manual aiming available for those who want it, and runs wrap up in under thirty minutes. Dozens of characters, from one-handed and lucky to crazy and mage, reshape how each run plays, while hundreds of items and weapons, ranging from flamethrowers and SMGs to rocket launchers and humble sticks and stones, give you enormous freedom to tinker.
Each wave lasts twenty to ninety seconds, tasking you with killing as many aliens as possible and collecting materials for experience and shop purchases between rounds. Local co-op supports up to four players, and generous accessibility options let you tune enemy health, damage and speed so the difficulty lands right where you want it.
