Broken Pieces is an investigative action-adventure set on the French coast, and the debut title from the five-person studio Elseware Experience. You step into the shoes of Elise, a woman in her thirties who moves to the quiet village of Saint-Exil with her fiancé, only to find herself utterly alone amid strange, unexplained phenomena. As an action-adventure RPG for PC, it wraps its mystery in a moody, post-Cold War atmosphere.
The story is one of unravelling secrets. Stranded and seemingly stuck out of time after a paranormal event, Elise must dig into the mysteries surrounding Saint-Exil, its ritualistic cult and the lighthouse watching over the coast, in an imaginary region reminiscent of Brittany.
Exploration is central to the experience. The game presents a visually rich world and a reworked camera system inspired by classic gaming sagas, giving you the flexibility to switch between first-person and third-person views or take in more panoramic sequences as you travel. An original soundtrack and custom EP round out a journey built around soaking in the area of Saint-Exil and its surroundings.
