Bramble: The Mountain King is a grim, atmospheric adventure through beautiful but deeply unsettling landscapes. You play as Olle, a young boy who sets out to rescue his little sister after she's snatched by a dreaded troll, and that simple quest quickly leads into a strange and dangerous land. As an indie adventure for PC, it pairs storybook visuals with genuine dread.

Survival hinges on judgment. Little in this world is quite what it appears, so you constantly have to weigh when to creep closer and when to hide, since hungry and spiteful creatures haunt the forests and caves at every turn. To endure the trials ahead you can call on the Spark of Courage, an enchanted fragment that grants gifts to help you overcome obstacles and dispatch the horrors you meet in inventive ways, though the game warns that courage without kindness can lead you somewhere dark.
