Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel launches the shoot-and-loot formula onto Pandora's moon, filling in the gap between the first two games. Set between the original Borderlands and Borderlands 2, it charts the rise of series villain Handsome Jack while serving up the shooter-meets-RPG blend fans already love. On PC it's an action FPS with real RPG depth and a space-flavoured twist.
The lunar setting reshapes the action. Low gravity turns every jump and stomp into a floaty leap, letting you strike enemies from above, while new ice and laser weapons open up fresh tactics against space-based foes. Vehicles built for the terrain let you Catch-a-Ride and explore the moon's surface for extra helpings of destruction.
Story-wise, this is Handsome Jack's origin, a chance to witness his climb to power and dig into the beginnings of iconic Borderlands villains, even experiencing events from his side. A new class of antiheroes carries you through it, including Wilhelm the Enforcer, Nisha the Lawbringer and Athena the Gladiator, plus a first-ever chance to play as a combat-ready Claptrap prototype, all while navigating the grey morality of working alongside Jack.
