About Battle Brothers

Battle Brothers is a turn-based tactical RPG that hands you the reins of a mercenary company adrift in a harsh, low-magic medieval fantasy setting. Every meaningful choice falls to you on PC: where your company marches, which contracts pay well enough to risk your men, whom to recruit, and how to drill and outfit the fighters who follow your banner. The campaign unfolds across a procedurally generated open world, so no two runs trace the same path.

The experience splits neatly into two layers. On the strategic worldmap you roam freely, chasing lucrative jobs, scouting ruins ripe for looting, hunting hostile bands, and returning to towns to restock and take on fresh recruits. This is also where the slower work happens: leveling your brothers and equipping them for what lies ahead. When you catch an enemy party, the game drops into a detailed tactical map for the actual bloodshed.

Expect grim consequences. Death is permanent, injuries are brutal, and each recruit arrives with their own backstory and quirks. Character growth avoids rigid classes, letting fighters earn experience and abilities organically as they survive one battle after another.
