About BATTALION 1944

BATTALION 1944 sets out to recapture the heart of classic competitive shooters and sharpen that vintage FPS feel for a new generation. It centres on 5v5 infantry combat where precise flick shots with your Kar98, covering fire from your Thompson and fluid movement all combine to help you clutch every round for your team. There are no airstrikes, attack dogs or overpowered god guns here, just you, your skill and your rifle.

That skill-first philosophy defines the marquee mode, Wartide, built specifically for competitive players. Two teams of five battle across thirteen rounds, each managing weapon armouries and either defending or destroying two objectives. Looting corpses lets you gather weapons for your team to wield in later rounds, so every kill and every round genuinely counts.

Beyond Wartide, the game spreads across familiar modes including Capture the Flag, Domination, Team Deathmatch and Free For All, giving players plenty of ways to wage war. Skill-based matchmaking rates your performance and pairs you against opponents of comparable ability, keeping matches sharp and competitive. On PC, this action FPS is aimed squarely at players chasing a high skill ceiling and the pure fundamentals of WWII shooting.
