About Backrooms: Escape Together

Backrooms: Escape Together poster

Backrooms: Escape Together drops you into the unsettling world of internet lore, offering seven levels that each function as a self-contained mini-adventure with its own gameplay, puzzles, lootable items, environments and entities. More levels are promised throughout early access as the game grows toward its goal of being the definitive Backrooms experience.

Procedural generation keeps things fresh. Rooms, hallways, item locations and more are rebuilt after every death or playthrough, so runs never grow stale and replayability stays high. Built in Unreal Engine 5, this action-adventure aims to truly capture the essence of the Backrooms, packing its generated spaces with detail designed to make you feel like a genuinely lost wanderer trapped in the liminal maze.

Co-op is central to the horror. You can enter alone or team up with as many as five others for six-player sessions, with dynamic proximity voice chat that reacts to walls and rooms as you move. Framed as a team of researchers sent to explore the labyrinth, you're left with just two goals after an elevator malfunction: survive and escape. Faithful to the online lore down to its entities and exits, this indie PC title takes its source material seriously.
