About Autonauts

Autonauts poster

Autonauts casts you as a lone colonist roaming the universe, touching down on empty planets with a single mission: set entire worlds in motion through the power of automation. This casual indie simulation begins humbly, with you harvesting sticks and stones and assembling rudimentary crafting items from blueprints before building your first workerbots.

Those bots are the heart of the game. Rather than commanding them directly, you teach and shape their artificial intelligence using a visual programming language, then set them loose to construct your colony. It's genuinely satisfying to watch a barren planet you've reshaped gradually blossom into a bustling civilisation of workerbots, all cheerfully carrying out the tasks you've designed.

As your colony matures, the scope widens. You can create colonists, living beings who depend on your care to survive, and push your automated workforce into more sophisticated roles by introducing fishing, cooking, housing and tailoring. Guiding those colonists toward a state of transcendence gives the whole endeavour a sense of purpose. On PC, it's a relaxed yet deep sandbox for players who love designing systems and watching them run on their own.
