Set against the smoke and grind of the 1868 Industrial Revolution, Assassin's Creed Syndicate drops you into a London where progress lines the pockets of the powerful and crushes everyone below. You step into the boots of Jacob Frye, a brash young Assassin who refuses to let the vulnerable be exploited, whether that means liberating children forced into factory labour or hijacking cargo from enemy ships.
Reclaiming the capital from the Templars isn't a one-person job, so this action-adventure hands you the reins of the city's criminal underground. You build up a stronghold, win over rival gang members, and forge the kind of army capable of loosening the enemy's grip street by street. Combat is quick and unforgiving, rewarding players who chain multi-kills and countermoves into brutal takedowns.
How you approach each target is up to you. Slip in unseen with the Rope Launcher and Hidden Blade, or wade in loud with a kukri and brass knuckles. Victorian London also comes alive through its transport: commandeer horse-drawn carriages during a chase or scramble across the rooftops of speeding trains. On PC, it's an atmospheric open-world playground built for both patience and aggression.
