About Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry

Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry poster

Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry is a standalone story that turns the spotlight on Adewale, a man born into slavery who found his freedom as a pirate serving aboard Edward Kenway's ship, the Jackdaw. Fifteen years on, he has become a trained Assassin, and this action-adventure picks up his life at a low point rather than a triumph.

The tale begins with Adewale shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue, stripped of both weapons and crew. To survive and act on his convictions he must acquire a new ship and assemble a crew of his own, setting out to free enslaved people and avenge them. That mission gives the game a sharper, more personal purpose than a typical seafaring romp.

Offering more than three hours of new single-player gameplay, Freedom Cry distills the swordplay, seafaring and Assassin fantasy of its era into a focused, self-contained chapter centered on Adewale's fight for liberation.
