Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia recasts the series as a 2.5D stealth adventure set amid the turmoil that follows the October Revolution, wrapped in an iconic propaganda art style rich with revolutionary symbolism. You join Nikolai Orelov on a search for redemption, boarding the famous trans-Siberian train, infiltrating the Kremlin and making a daring escape from Moscow.
This chapter shifts the fantasy of the stealthy Assassin into a more modern 20th-century setting, complete with contemporary systems to exploit. You work around elevators, radios and trip wires, and interact with vehicles such as trucks, trains and tanks, giving the sneaking a distinctly mechanized flavor. As Nikolai you can snipe targets with a silenced rifle, detonate mines from afar or close in with a bayonet, and put his versatile Mechanical Winch to use, a tool capable of delivering electric shocks.
The game also lets you switch between two playable characters. Beyond Nikolai, you take control of Anastasia, who slips through narrow channels and wields her own exclusive Helix Blade, adding variety to how you approach each carefully staged scenario on PC.
