Armello is a grand swashbuckling adventure that fuses three ways to play into one PC experience, layering the tactical depth of card games over the strategic sweep of tabletop board games and wrapping both in a character role-playing system. You take on a hero from one of Armello's animal clans and set out with a single grand ambition in mind: to storm the palace and claim the throne as King or Queen.
Getting there is a matter of scheming as much as strength. You quest, hire agents, explore, cast spells, vanquish monsters and face off against other players, all within a kingdom that is as perilous as it is beautiful. Banes, bandits and dangers wait around every corner, and a spreading corruption known as the rot touches every creature, keeping the pressure on throughout each match.
Developer League of Geeks pitched Armello as an attempt to reinvent digital board and card games while giving players a rich world to spin their own tales in. The design deliberately courts backstabbing, close shaves, broken alliances, ruses and empty promises, making it a strategy and RPG hybrid best enjoyed online with friends.
