ARK: Survival Evolved drops you naked, freezing and starving onto the shores of a mysterious island known as the ARK, where staying alive is entirely up to your own resourcefulness. To withstand the elements you'll need to hunt, gather resources, craft tools, grow crops, research new technologies and build shelters, turning a hostile wilderness into a place you can actually inhabit.
The island is home to towering dinosaurs and other primeval creatures, and how you deal with them defines your playthrough. You can kill the leviathans that roam the land or, with enough cunning, tame and breed them to serve your own ends. It's a survival sandbox that blends action, adventure and RPG progression with a persistent, creature-filled world.
Because hundreds of other players share that world, ARK is as much about people as it is about wildlife. You can band together for mutual protection or prey on rivals as you compete to survive, dominate the island and, ultimately, find a way to escape. The result is a large-scale multiplayer experience where every alliance and rivalry shapes your struggle to endure.
