About ARK: Survival Ascended

ARK: Survival Ascended is a from-the-ground-up remaster of the dinosaur survival experience, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 to push it into a new generation of visuals. You wake on a mysterious island, senses flooded by blinding sunlight and vivid color, azure water at your feet and a distant roar echoing from the jungle. From there the familiar loop begins: form a tribe, tame and breed hundreds of species of dinosaurs and other primeval creatures, and explore, craft, build and fight your way up the food chain.

The reimagining is the whole point. Every world and much of the artwork has been recreated to take advantage of modern technology, including fully dynamic global illumination through Lumen for realistic light bounce and reflections, and Nanite mesh streaming that renders hundreds of millions of triangles for extreme detail.

New physics systems deepen the sense of a living world too. Dynamic water means every creature stirs up waves, ripples, splashes and bubbles as it moves, while foliage responds physically to whatever passes through it. Blending action, adventure, RPG and MMO elements, it's a PC survival sandbox rebuilt around next-generation tech.
