About Arid

Arid is a compact open-world survival game set in the 1930s across the Atacama, one of the driest deserts on Earth. You take the role of a cargo pilot flying high above the desert when a sudden engine failure and a miraculous landing leave you stranded in this brutal, unforgiving place. From there, the questions are simple but grim: can you endure the extreme conditions, and is there any way out at all?

Designed as a singleplayer, semi-hardcore experience, Arid deliberately avoids hand-holding. After a guided introduction it lets you explore and advance the story at your own pace, whether that means hunting down and repairing the refuges scattered across the map, scavenging for extra resources, or simply seeing how many days you can last. Survival in the mountains means fighting off severe dehydration, extreme heat, relentless sun exposure and other natural hazards, with scarce shade and even scarcer water.

Managing your body is a constant concern, from avoiding sunburn to keeping your temperature in check, so stocking up on resources and finding safe shelter becomes essential. Dynamic weather events such as sudden temperature swings and sandstorms keep the desert dangerous and unpredictable throughout.
