Ragnarok: The New World — our take

GNJOY's official campaign makes the pitch clearer: this is Ragnarok rebuilt around eight classes, MVP mounts, player trading, fashion and cross-platform onboarding.

Ragnarok: The New World is at its best when you judge it by its official promise instead of by nostalgia alone. GNJOY frames it as a live, all-platform Ragnarok with launch rewards, a class showcase and feature pillars built for modern sessions. That is the useful read: this is not a preservation server, and it is not trying to feel exactly like 2002 RO.

What the official campaign tells us

The strongest hooks are concrete. Eight launch classes make the first decision easy. MVP mounts turn boss hunting into a visible collection chase. Prontera-style trading keeps the old social economy recognizable. Wardrobe customization gives casual players a reason to keep checking in. Launch rewards, including the Kafra VIP Pass campaign, lower the barrier for new and returning users.

Our take

This is a good acquisition target for lapsed Ragnarok fans in monetizable SEA geos because the pitch is easy to understand: familiar RO identity, fewer old-school pain points, and a PC/mobile path into a fresh economy. The risk is expectation mismatch. PC-first players who dislike auto systems, launcher friction or chance-based monetization may leave quickly. Players who want Ragnarok comfort with modern convenience are the audience to write for.
