Reception is "Mostly Positive" (around 72% of 3,000+ reviews, 77% recent), with players praising combat and the economy but repeatedly flagging an intrusive in-game shop and a fiddly control scheme. As an Early Access F2P title it's rough in spots and the monetization pressure is real, but if you want an Age-of-Sail MMO right now, it's the most alive option and it costs nothing to try.
