World of Sea Battle tier list

Which ships are worth investing in right now — a launch-window meta snapshot.

By PC Game Pilot·Intermediate·~4 min·Updated 6 Jul 2026

A soft meta exists and is progression- and mode-driven rather than a rigid competitive ladder. Open-world/PvE endgame: Victory (peak PvE killer), Ancient (endgame brawler) and Blackwind (the mid-game power spike that "opens up" the game) are the keeper combat ships. Arena/PvP meta favors Devourer, Red Arrow and Surprise for burst and agility. Imperial-class ships carry the best raw stats but demand rare currencies (Battle Marks, Voodoo Skulls, Escudos). Early game is carried by Blackwind and Essex; the community consensus is to skip La Salamandre and rush Blackwind (~Lvl 12). Note: ship level numbering varies across community sources.

Top picks

  • Blackwind (S) — The mid-game power spike where the game finally opens up
  • Victory (S) — Peak PvE killer and the combat line's crown jewel
  • Ancient (A) — The endgame brawler built to trade broadsides
  • Red Arrow (S) — Arena darling and a fixture of the PvP meta
  • Devourer (S) — Burst-damage terror that dominates the timers
  • Surprise (A) — Fast, agile frigate that punches above its class
