Season 5 "Distortion" rewrites the ammo meta
The April update nerfed high-penetration "red" ammo and buffed low-tier chip damage — mid-tier loadouts are viable again, and the Valley turns hostile.
Season 5, Distortion, launched on 2 April 2026 and reshaped how fights play out. The big change is to ammo: high-penetration "red" rounds (7N37, SNB, .338 AP) no longer one-shot to the chest, while low-tier and chip damage were buffed — so mid-tier ammo is far more viable and top-tier rounds are less mandatory.
The Valley, distorted
The season leaned into a "distortion" theme with more extreme environments and weather, raising the pressure on every run. As always, it shipped with a progression wipe.
